Warranty period
The warranty period for each laptop is shown on its product page and on your order invoice. It starts on the date of delivery. Where a product page states a different period for a specific component (for example the battery or charger), that period applies to that component.
The warranty is provided by RenewByte (the seller). It is separate from, and does not depend on, any original manufacturer warranty that may or may not remain on the device.
What's covered
The warranty covers hardware defects and failures that occur during normal use, including:
- Motherboard, processor and memory (RAM) faults.
- Storage (SSD or hard drive) failure.
- Display faults such as dead or stuck-pixel clusters, lines, backlight failure or flickering that were not described on the listing.
- Keyboard, trackpad, speakers, microphone and webcam faults.
- Ports (USB, HDMI, audio, charging) and Wi-Fi or Bluetooth failure.
- Charger faults, if the charger was supplied by us.
- Battery failure where the battery stops charging or cannot power the laptop, within the battery coverage stated on the product page.
What's not covered
The warranty does not cover:
- Physical or liquid damage — drops, cracks, dents, bent ports or spills after delivery.
- Normal wear — gradual reduction in battery capacity over time, cosmetic wear or keyboard shine.
- Cosmetic condition described by the laptop's condition grade or noted on the listing.
- Software issues — viruses, malware, operating system problems, lost passwords or third-party software. We can offer guidance, but software support is not a warranty repair.
- Unauthorised repairs or modifications — if the laptop has been opened or repaired by someone other than us or our authorised service partner. Upgrading RAM or storage does not void the warranty on other parts, but damage caused during an upgrade is not covered.
- Accessories not supplied by us, and consumables such as bags or cables bought separately.
- Data loss. Please back up your data regularly; we are not responsible for data on devices sent for repair.
- Damage caused by power surges, incorrect chargers, fire, flood or other events outside normal use.
How to make a claim
- Contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email (details below) with your order number and a short description of the problem. Photos or a short video help us diagnose faster.
- Remote troubleshooting. Many issues can be solved with simple steps, so our team may first guide you through some checks.
- Pickup or shipping. If the laptop needs inspection, we'll arrange pickup from serviceable PIN codes or give you shipping instructions. Please pack it securely and include the charger if the issue relates to charging.
- Diagnosis. We inspect the laptop and confirm whether the fault is covered. If it isn't, we'll explain why and share a quote for a paid repair, which you are free to decline.
- Repair or replacement. Covered faults are repaired using compatible parts. If a repair isn't practical, we may replace the laptop with one of the same or better specification, or offer a refund of the purchase price if neither is possible.
- Return. We ship the laptop back to you at no cost for covered repairs.
We aim to complete warranty repairs within 7–10 business days of receiving the laptop, depending on part availability. We'll keep you updated throughout.
Before you send a laptop for repair
- Back up your files.
- Remove passwords, or share them securely only if we need them to test the fault.
- Sign out of accounts that lock the device (for example Find My on a Mac).
- Keep your order number handy.
Replacements and repaired parts
Replacement parts may be new or refurbished and are equivalent in function and performance to the original. Replaced parts become our property. A repair or replacement does not extend the original warranty period, but any repaired part is covered for the remaining warranty period or 30 days, whichever is longer.
Your statutory rights
This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and other applicable Indian law.
